Yuxta(O)positions*

Mario Licón Cabrera

I Hear/Read

I hear
Parrots
crying aloud
I imagine
their bright
colours amid
the branches
shinning under
the morning
sun.
I read
about a
young Mexican
bricklayer
who jumped
from the 6th floor
for no having
enough money
to help
his brothers
& mother.

Círculo de tiza

Éste desorden es mi orden.
Tratando de encontrar la puerta te encuentro.

Justo a tiempo –antes que mis delirios
aumenten el sentimiento de tu ausencia.

Pero no siempre es de ésta manera,
lo más del tiempo encuentro el vacío;

luego un tipo de señlales que
cubiertas con vidrios rotos & polvo

me guian hacia un callejón solitaro
donde aspiro la menta después de la lluvia & corro

de regreso a casa otra vez & cierro
esa puerta donde te encuentro.

Slammy Lee’s ballad

There he goes
Slammy Lee
all over the house
slaming doors
his the toilet &
the exit one
bang-bang-bang!

And if early in the morinig
you hear a burly clap-clip-clop!
don’t you ever think
that is a horse
is just Slammy Lee
smashing the poor timber floor

Then late at night
while Slammy Lee
answers the phone
he goes all over his room
slamming with his voice
the poor night’s walls.
